As ASEAN Chair in 2026, the Philippines is placing strong emphasis on making the ASEAN Online Sale Day (AOSD) 2026 not only a regional shopping event, but also a practical platform for advancing safe, trusted and inclusive cross-border e-commerce.
Under the Philippines’ leadership, particular attention is being given to consumer protection and transaction safety. Participating businesses are subject to verification to help prevent counterfeit products, fraud and other forms of commercial misconduct. At the same time, enhanced online mechanisms for handling consumer complaints, together with greater transparency on prices, return policies and personal data protection, are being promoted to strengthen consumer confidence in cross-border online transactions.
The Philippines is also working closely with major e-commerce platforms, including Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop, to promote products participating in AOSD 2026 through dedicated banners, promotional campaigns and exclusive vouchers. Cooperation with digital payment providers, banks and cross-border logistics operators is also expected to contribute to safer, more seamless and cost-effective international transactions.
Supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) is another key focus of the Philippines’ AOSD 2026 agenda. Through expanded registration channels, digital training and technical assistance, more domestic MSMEs will be supported in accessing international e-commerce platforms and reaching consumers across the region.
These efforts are complemented by a comprehensive digital communications campaign led through official channels of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry, social media and partner media networks. Through these initiatives, the Philippines, as ASEAN Chair 2026, is demonstrating its commitment to strengthening regional digital connectivity, empowering businesses—particularly MSMEs—and building greater trust in cross-border e-commerce across ASEAN.
